Feis Culkin 2015
Hello Everyone! Feis Culkin is up and running! This year the feis will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Maryland Soccerplex & Discovery Center in Boyds, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC.
The feis is an indoor event held in the spacious Discovery Center! There is plenty of parking and outdoor space for those ‘non’ Irish dancers, who would like a chance to run before the trip home.
The Syllabus has been published and *REGISTRATION WILL OPEN* on Saturday, September 19. We will post the opening registration times later in the week-it will be early!
*URGENT NOTE*: if you are heading to the Baltimore Feis this Saturday, we urge you to get up early and register your dancer first thing! Feis Culkin has been known to fill up in record time and we don’t want you to miss your opportunity to register. Please don’t miss it!
FeisWeb will be handling the registrations–click here to get to Feisweb.
Thanks to everyone who attended Feis Culkin. We’ve got full coverage and results on our social media channels today and will be adding them to this site later this week.
See you next year!

Figures competitions get underway at 8:30 a.m., followed by championship stages and the Beginner/Adv. Beginner grade levels.

And follow us online or on your phone on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for day-of photos, results and more.
A reminder to all feis-goers that per the Feis Culkin and standard Irish dance competition rules, photography or video recording of a dancer competing is prohibited except in the beginner and advanced beginner categories unless specifically authorized by the feis committee. This includes the use of cameras on phones.
At Feis Culkin 2014, two photographers have been authorized to take pictures: the official Feis Culkin photographer and the Washington Post.
The Washington Post will have a reporter and photographer on site at the feis. They have received permission from the feis committee to interview and photograph dancers during the feis. The photographer will be asking for names and contact information for individuals photographed. If the Post uses images of a dancer in their article, scheduled for publishing on November 30, the parents of those dancers under the age of 18 will be contacted for permission.
Official photos from Feis Culkin will be shared via social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and posted on Flickr.

Please be sure to check the list of combined and split competitions as you look at the stage schedule. Thirteen grade level dances have been combined and seven have been split.
It is possible that smaller championship competitions will run concurrently to allow dancers time to rest/change shoes between rounds. Also, the younger championship competitions – up to and including U15 – should expect to dance 3 at a time in hard shoe competitions, as is the practice at major competitions.
Please check back for any further updates before Sunday!
