Beginner Costumes

Our school seamstress, BJ Mason, sends the following notice on school costumes for Feis Culkin and the Oireachtas:

**

Hello Everyone!

As you can probably guess, Feis Culkin is just around the corner. I have received many orders for beginner costumes, which are underway. If you have not ordered a beginner costume and need to do so, please get your requests in soon. I have provided size charts for the t-shirts, measuring information for the skirts, and order forms to Sean and Nicki E for your use. The fastest way to get the information to me is thru email, however snail mail or phone msgs are ok, too. If your dancer needs the costume for a performance earlier than Feis Culkin, please let me know when you order it so that I can get it to you in time. More information after the jump...

You will also need to have poodle socks. There are many places to purchase these; just "google" irish dance supplies for a complete list. The 4 places I have used and found to be reliable are: The Ceili Company at www.ceili.com, Fay's shoes at a feis or at www.fayshoes.com, Repeat Performance dance store on Nicholson Lane near White Flint Mall, and Everything Dance in Gaithersburg.

You will also need a brooch to wear on the shall at the shoulder. There is no specific brooch required by Sean. You can use a family brooch, a celtic brooch available at many irish dance stores and at the feis, or a nice brooch from a discount or department store (Walmart, Kohls, etc). I will provide safety pins to secure the shawl to the t-shirt - the brooch is for looks. Just be sure it fastens securely; loose items aren't good on the dance floor!
